KELVIN -

No injuries were reported in a crash near Kelvin Tuesday involving a school bus and a car.

The mishap occurred around 4:30 p.m. on the Burford-Delhi Townline at the intersection of the Windham West Quarter Line Road.

Evidence at the scene suggests the bus was heading west on Townline Road when it collided with a southbound Mitsubishi crossover. The bus was running a route on behalf of the Brant-Haldimand-Norfolk Catholic School Board and was carrying three students.

The cream-coloured, four-doored Mitsubishi suffered extensive damage to its front end. The driver’s side air bag was deployed.

“The driver’s OK,” Doug Hall, a shop foreman at Sharp Bus Lines in Simcoe, said at the scene. “He was up and walking around.”

The mini-bus was badly damaged on one side, with a rear fender suffering a tear. The woman driving the bus was visibly upset. There was no word at press time of any charges.
