Lots to do at Burgessville Library in August

Burgessville Library branch has several special events lined up for August.

Summer Explore & Learn - 10 a.m. Thursday, Aug. 3, 10, 17, 24. Join us for an hour of fun, songs, stories and a craft. This program is geared for kids 0-8 years old. Please register.

Mad Science: Che-mystry - Friday, Aug. 4 at 3 p.m. This is a free event for ages 5-12 years. Explore one of the most exciting sciences as you make your own artwork with shaving cream, test various powders and take home a Dynamic Dish to test even more. Please sign up, space is limited.

Mask Making – Tuesday, Aug. 8 at 4:30 p.m. This craft is for ages 6 and up. Come make a very special mask.

Movie: Bossy Baby - Saturday, Aug. 12 at 10 a.m. Free movie theatre popcorn, just bring a drink with a lid.

Story Time in Ducky Dennis Park on Aug. 14 at 10 a.m. Join Oxford Early Years for stories, songs and rhymes in the park.

Mom’s Night Out: Epicure – Tuesday, Aug. 15 at 6:30 p.m. If you love Epicure or you're new to it, come out and see how to use it to make tasty breakfast, lunch and supper ideas. This is a free event and there will be tasting and a draw.

Mad Science: Dry Ice Capades – Friday, Aug. 18 at 3 p.m. This is a free event for ages 5-12 years. Explore the three states of matter. Watch as Mad Scientist builds a giant bubbling potion, and more. Take home your own Thermocolor Cup that changes colour when cold. Please sign up, space is limited.

Canadian Games – Tuesday, Aug. 22 at 4:30 p.m. Come and join the fun and games. Ages 6 and up. 5 and under must be have adult accompaniment.

Summer Reading Wrap-Up Party – Saturday, Aug. 26 at 11 a.m. We will be celebrating with ice cream, games, a draw for a free book, face painting.
