The man killed in the region’s latest fatal motorcycle crash was a longtime employee of an Oxford County recreational-vehicle dealership.

Monday, police publicly identified the man killed as 46-year-old Daryl Dougherty of Norwich. In a social-media post, Davidson’s Sport and Lawn in Norwich called him an 18-year employee and a “dear friend and co-worker.”

The company described him as "a wonderful person, a gentle giant" with "an infectious laugh that everyone knew."

Davidson’s Sport and Lawn sells motorcycles, ATVs, snowmobiles and other vehicles.

Oxford County OPP say a motorcycle was travelling north on Highway 59 at about 2 p.m. Thursday when it collided with a pickup truck travelling eastbound Maple Dell Road.

The driver of the pickup truck wasn’t injured. An air ambulance was sent to the scene but didn’t transport the patient.

OPP are still investigating the crash and are asking anyone with information to call 1-888-310-1122.

Dougherty’s motorcycle death is the third in the Woodstock area in little more than a month. Throughout the region, there have now been at least seven motorcycle-related fatalities since June.
