An Oxford County farmer had to round up thousands of pigs after someone broke into his barn and caused havoc by letting them loose Sunday.

Oxford OPP said 2,500 pigs were on the lam after a suspect broke into a farm property some time between 1 and 7 p.m. in East Zorra-Tavistock.

While the pigs were let out of their stalls, none was outside the larger barn that houses them, police say. Police are continuing to investigate.

Anyone with information about those responsible is asked to contact Oxford OPP at 1-888-310-1122.
