It was a big night for Fanshawe College women’s basketball Wednesday.

The Falcons, ranked No. 11 in the Canadian College Athletic Association won their seventh game in succession with an 82-58 win over St. Clair Saints. They remain undefeated at home and have an overall record of 14-2.

But during the course of the game Ali Vlasman from Mount Elgin, Ont., became Fanshawe’s women’s basketball all-time points leader with 791. She surpassed Rebecca Huntley’s previous record of 781 set during her tenure at Fanshawe from 1992 to 1996.

Vlasman dropped the record-setting points on a layup in the fourth quarter.

The night was even more memorable because Vlasman set the record in the game in which she scored 27 points, a career high.
